Stone had two No. 1s on the Adult R&B Airplay chart and one on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and was nominated for three Grammys. Angie Stone died in a car crash on Saturday (March 1), a representative for the R&B and soul singer, who was also a founding member of the trio The Sequence, confirmed to Billboard. With a career in music that spanned the late ’70s through her sudden passing, Stone topped both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Adult R&B Airplay charts and was nominated for three Grammy Awards.
