Record Store Day will be returning for the 18th time in April. In anticipation of the event, the complete list of releases has been confirmed, including exclusive vinyl records from esteemed artists such as Sam Fender, Charli XCX, Oasis, The Cure, Taylor Swift, Fred Again, and Gorillaz. The annual event, which celebrates record stores and music as a physical medium, will be held on April 12th. Hundreds of exclusive records will be available to purchase on a first-come-first-served basis. Over 270 independent record shops will participate across the country. This year’s Record Store Day ambassadors have already been confirmed. Sam Fender will take on duties in the UK, while Post Malone will be the ambassador in the US. A complete list of releases has now been confirmed, including exclusive records from some of the biggest names in music, including legendary artists and newer up-and-comers. Additionally, acts such as English Teacher, Confidence Man, and Beabadoobee are getting involved. Meanwhile, heritage acts such as Lou Reed, Public Image Ltd, and The Jesus and Mary Chain will also be releasing exclusive records as part of Record Story Day 2025. One of the biggest bands involved in 2025 is Oasis. As the band warms up for their highly anticipated reunion shows in the summer, they will release a collection of songs called Time Fiies… (1994-2009), which will be available for the first time with new packaging and remastered audio. The box set is said to include four coloured LPs. Noel Gallagher has spoken about how excited he is to be involved in Record Store Day, shining a light on how important Record Stores were to his upbringing and development as a musician. “Record shops were really important when I was growing up,” he said, “It’s something that’s in my DNA. I think if we can keep record shops open for as long as possible, we owe it to the young people of this country.” Fred Again shared a similar sentiment when discussing the release of Actual Life piano live sessions, which will be his contribution to Record Store Day. “This vinyl series is always gonna be limited pressings of live moments that felt particularly special,” he said, “And these are some of my favourite things we’ve done.” As the popularity of vinyl increases, with 2024 seeing sales of physical records hit an all-time high, Record Store Day is growing more anticipated every year. When discussing the event, Mark Thorne of Thorne Records said, “Every year, I am asked, ‘What is Record Store Day?’ My answer is always, ‘It’s like Mother’s Day for record shops’ – but instead of chocolates and flowers, we indie record retailers get a queue of wonderful customers.” the complete UK list here: https://www.recordstoreday.co.uk/rsd-list
